Who We Are
Expeditor Dry Goods is built on more than 120 years of hands in the soil, field to table work. Our family has been growing, milling and baking with grains in Alberta, Canada for five generations. We have been farming the same land our Ukrainian ancestors began working at the turn of the last century. These pioneers would clean the grain with a Rishito, remove hulls with a Zhorna, stone mill the grain and craft meals to be baked for their family in a Pyets oven. Serving customers is nothing new to our family. Great Gido’s general store provided hardware, dry goods and groceries to the surrounding communities. We have modernized this process but have not changed the values behind it.
Today, we continue that legacy with modern care and old-world respect: growing, cleaning and crafting grains into real food for real people. Everything we make or procure is guided by one simple standard, would we feed it to our own family? If the answer isn’t a clear "yes", it isn’t a product of Expeditor Dry Goods.
We believe good food should do more than fill you up, it should actually nourish your body. This is why we focus on nutrient-dense grains, clean and simple ingredients and products that feel as good as they taste. Our products are everyday staples and snacks you can feel proud to reach for.
As farmers, pilots and backcountry UTV and snowmobile enthusiasts, we spend long hours behind the controls, in the field, on the road, through the air and exploring the backcountry. Staying fit, focused and on task isn’t optional, it’s part of the job. Holding a demanding pilot medical, pushing through long hours and having the stamina and focus for adrenaline-fueled work and play means one thing: what we eat actually matters. Real food. Clean ingredients. No shortcuts.
Whether it’s a simple breakfast, or part of a special-occasion dessert like Kutia shared with family at Christmas, our grains are meant to fuel people and honour our history.
As stewards of the land, we care deeply about maintaining and improving the soil that sustains us in order to maintain viability for years to come. We also believe stewardship means showing up beyond the field, for the people, the places and the organizations that hold rural life together. We volunteer with our local fire department, stay active in the flying club and are proud members of the snowmobile community. We do our best to give back through donations and support for local initiatives, the kind of behind-the-scenes work that helps a community thrive. Our goal is to keep bringing the next generation into the work with the same love, values and pride that we have today. We aim to do better for ourselves, our customers and our community, one honest serving at a time.
